You may have reached a point where you feel tired of the way that you are living or feeling. This could be showing up as burnout from personal or professional commitments, in relationship problems that are following a familiar pattern, or in seeming outwardly successful but feeling the opposite on the inside. You may find it difficult to identify and say what you think and need, or experience outbursts of anxiety or rage. Your inner critic may take a walk on the wild side too often, leaving you feeling ‘not good enough’. Or a sudden change or loss in your life may have left you feeling like you are in free fall.

These signs are like the warning light in a car: they tell you that you need to change or address something, but you’re not sure what, and you’re not sure how. Therapy helps you work out how you got here, what needs to change - both within you and in your life - and how to move forward.

The evidence shows that the most important factor in whether therapy works is you, the client – whether you want to change something, and what you do about it in the therapy and in your life in general. The second most important factor is that you have a good working relationship with your therapist, so it is important that you choose a therapist you feel comfortable with.
